Shillong, Sep 21: The University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) organised a special session on ‘Research Advancement in Space Exploration’ yesterday, bringing together students and faculty from the Departments of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Science.
Prof Dhruba J Saikia, a renowned Indian astrophysicist and radio astronomer, shared his vast knowledge and research experiences in the field of space science, inspiring young minds to look beyond conventional boundaries and pursue innovative research in astronomy and astrophysics.
In his address, Saikia emphasised the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing space research, highlighting how physics, chemistry and earth sciences together play a crucial role in understanding the mysteries of the universe. Students actively interacted during the session, gaining new perspectives on scientific inquiry and future possibilities in space exploration, a press release said.
