In observance of World Tuberculosis (TB) day, the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC) at Loomkyrwiang here organised an interactive street play at Iawshyiap market to educate the public on TB prevention, early detection and treatment.
The initiative aligns with the global theme,“Yes! We can End TB”, emphasising the collective effort needed to eliminate the disease.
The interactive skit, led by ASHAs (Accredited Social Health Activists), focused on identifying TB symptoms, the importance of completing the full course of medication and dispelling misconceptions about the disease. The skit also highlighted the role of proper hygiene, nutrition and timely medical intervention in combating TB.
The healthcare workers reiterated that TB is curable and timely treatment is available for free at government health centres, encouraging the public to seek medical help without hesitation.
