The Orchidarium at the Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) in Upper Shillong has been reopened for the general public and tourists.
The reopening of the Orchidarium was kick started with an orchids and flower exhibition that was inaugurated by Principal Secretary and CEO of the Meghalaya Basin Development Authority, P Sampath Kumar, today in the presence of scientists and staff and the floriculture farmers of Khasi Hills and Ri-Bhoi who have been provided a platform for exhibiting their tradable orchids.
The orchidarium is now full of cymbidiums in full bloom, along with the native orchids and other seasonal flowers.
