Shillong, Aug 23: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar today reviewed the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in North Garo Hill district.
The meeting, which was held via video conference, was aimed at discussing pressing concerns of scheme implementation by identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement and offering effective solutions.
North Garo Hills’ Deputy Commissioner Dr Abhishek Saini updated Kumar on the progress and priorities of the district and highlighted ground level challenges faced in various schemes implementation such as infrastructure issues, low maintenance of certain projects and others.
The Deputy Commissioner sought additional funding resources and personnel requirements in various departments for overall growth and progress of the district through the effective implementation of the schemes.
District officials during their presentation also voiced issues and challenges faced by respective departments and suggested modification of certain scheme policies to suit local conditions.
After an in – depth discussion of all the presentations, Kumar assured the district officials of a follow up with higher authorities for exploring ways to enhance outreach and smooth implementation of the schemes.
Departmental schemes reviewed during the meeting were Health, PHE, DCIC, Horticulture – Agriculture, Soil & Water Conservation, Education, Labour, PWD (Roads), C&RD (MNREGS) and Social Welfare.
