Shillong, Nov 9: Union Minister of State for AYUSH and Health and Family Welfare, Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav, visited North Garo Hills on Saturday to conduct an extensive review of the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes.
The visit began with an on-site inspection of the Resubelpara Community Health Centre, including the Ayurveda and Homeopathy (AYUSH) OPD, MGNREGA work sites and interactions with village health councils and PMAY (G) beneficiaries.
The minister engaged in detailed discussions with members of self-help groups (SHGs) to understand their entrepreneurial journeys, challenges and the transformative role of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) in empowering women and fostering financial independence.
Jadhav expressed satisfaction with the district’s overall performance, particularly in implementing central schemes. However, he also urged the administration to enhance service delivery, strengthen digital connectivity for timely reporting and ensure complete saturation of flagship programmes such as the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Saini affirmed the district’s commitment to address feedback, improve key performance indicators (KPIs) and enhance efficiency in service delivery to citizens.
