A day after nominated MDC of the UDP Bindo M. Lanong decided to support the KHADC Executive Committee led by the NPP, the party today said it has decided to entrust the matter to its partymen in the district council.
UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh said that he came to know about his two party colleagues supporting the NPP-led Executive Council through media reports.
“We did not have any opportunity to meet them but we entrusted the matter to the Members of District Council in the KHADC to look into the issue,” the UDP president said.
Besides Lanong, former Nongkrem MLA Lambor Malgniang have also decided to support the NPP led Executive Council.
“I don’t want to comment anything on the case of Bah Bindo and till date we want to show our respect for him as one of the senior members in politics,” he said.
On Lanong’s statement that the party has not responded to his letter that he had sent sometime during April this year, Lyngdoh said that the party every time reaches out at various levels and the party is ready for discussion if the need arises.
The UDP president also said that the party respects Lanong even today and they won’t like to give any negative opinion about him.
On Lanong’s statement that he was nominated KHADC MDC by late Dr. Donkupar Roy, Lyngdoh refused to comment but reiterated that he and the party will continue to respect him.
