The central election committee of UDP will meet here tomorrow to screen the applications of ticket aspirants for the 2023 Assembly elections.
According to sources, district party leaders will submit the names of ticket aspirants from various constituencies in their respective districts for screening and final approval by the election committee.
A number of sitting MLAs from various parties have also indicated their desire to contest the 2023 polls on UDP ticket.
However, their final decision to join the UDP may happen only before the elections in order to avoid disqualification under the Anti-Defection Act.
