The North Garo Hills unit of the United Democratic Party (UDP) has submitted the names of three hopefuls to the party’s central election committee for the upcoming state elections.
Ex-MLA and UDP working president Luderberg Ch Momin has been nominated to run for the Kharkutta seat. He had come fifth with fewer than 600 votes in the 2018 election. Former National People’s Party member Subhroto G Marak, a college professor, has been recommended for Mendipathar, while UDP NGH district president Rakman Ch Marak has been nominated to run for Bajengdoba constituency.
Rakman, who is also the chairman of the UDP’s district election committee said that the decision was taken today to “regularise the action already taken” by the party’s state adviser BG Momin, who had unveiled the three as ticket aspirants.
