In another setback to the UDP ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election from Shillong seat, party MDC from Nongkrem Lambor Malngiang has decided to support the NPP candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh.
Malngiang shared the stage with Lyngdoh at the election campaign held at Madan Smit today. The meeting was also attended by State NPP president Prestone Tynsong and other party leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Malngiang did not reveal the reasons for not supporting UDP candidate Robertjune Kharjahrin.
Throughout his speech, Malngiang’s attack was against the VPP and its president Ardent M. Basaiawmoit who is also the sitting MLA of Nongkrem.
It may be mentioned that two HSPDP MLAs – Shakliar Warjri and Methodius Dkhar also did not campaign for the UDP candidate although the two parties are part of the Regional Democratic Alliance.
