The United Democratic Party (UDP) has chosen Medalsing Lyngdoh as its candidate for the Mawkyrwat seat at next year’s Assembly election.
The announcement was made today at a reception ceremony of new members to the party in Mawkyrwat by UDP circle General Secretary Denis Wanniang.
He said the UDP in Mawkyrwat will no longer look for an alliance with the HSPDP and hence the party will put up its own candidate in 2023 elections.
Welcoming new members to the party, who have switched over from the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), Congress, National People’s Party (NPP) and People’s Democratic Front (PDF), Wanniang said the party will receive more members in the coming days.
