General Secretary of the United Democratic Party (UDP), Jemino Mawthoh, today expressed confidence that the party will break their duck and win at least three to four seats in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC), elections for which were held on Monday.
Counting of votes will take place tomorrow.
“We have worked very hard in the GHADC election and we are certain to open our account this time,” Mawthoh stated.
He also said that the UDP’s candidates in another eight to nine constituencies have a good chance of winning.
He claimed that during the campaign this time the people in Garo Hills welcome the UDP just like the erstwhile All Party Hill Leaders Conference and wanted to see a change.
