The UDP will contest the upcoming Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) elections from seven constituencies.
According to party sources, Elbarth Marak will contest from Damas, Rakman Ch Marak from Bolsong, Samarson M. Marak from Kharkutta, Aman Gare Momin from Darugre, Helwithson A. Sangma from Boldramgre, Ajit A. Marak from Asanang and Kredithson Ch Marak from Dengnakpara.
Earlier, NPP had cleared its list of 29 candidates for the polls. Congress and BJP have released only the first list of contestants respectively.
The State government has decided to shift the date of the elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) from April 9 to April 12 due to the third phase of the Assam elections which will be held on April 6.
Counting of votes has also been shifted from April 14 to April 15.
