The dorbar shnong Tympang-Iawmusiang has said that the government machineries in the urban affairs department has made a mockery of the High Court by claiming to have cleared the garbage from Jowai during the hearing of a PIL on April 22.
In a letter to Chief Secretary Rebecca V Suchiang, the dorbar shnong urged her to intervene in clearing the mess from Jowai after the municipal board failed to collect the garbage from all localities including the market for the last four months.
The dorbar also reiterated use of Mynkjai dumping site for the piled up garbage and urged the chief secretary to issue necessary orders to direct the district administration and the municipal board in this regard.
They said that the landfill in Mynkjai was used for the last 40 years and has zero effect on health.
