Over 65 per cent of the work of the Greater Mawkyrwat Water Supply Scheme (GMWSS) has been completed.
Former Public Health Engineering Minister and local MLA Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar said on Sunday that he had earlier carried out an inspection.
“I inspected the Greater Mawkyrwat Water Supply Scheme covering eight villages and the work is going on smoothly overall, with 65 percent completed and I hope they will finish it well within this year,” he said. “There were a few hurdles before but now it has all been sorted out and now work is going on in full swing in all the villages. I hope they will be completed on time.”
In October 2022 Tongkhar laid the foundation stones for 11 schemes for Mawkyrwat from the water project under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) schemes.
