Police arrested two men for snatching a pedestrian’s mobile phone.
The accused have been identified as 19-year old Othaniel Marbaniang of Nongthymmai Rngi Neng and 20-year old Govind Singh 20 yrs of Demthring Block-1.
The complainant, Jennyta Swer, told police that her mobile phone was snatched while she was on her way from Law U Sib to Madanriting by two men on Saturday. She was stopped by the two men who asked for her phone to make a call, but they snatched it after she refused.
Police arrested the two accused yesterday, recovered the device and seized a brand new Yamaha motor bike with temporary number MT.15 (Y2).
“Their involvement in other such cases cannot be ruled out for which a thorough investigation will be done,” SP (City) Vivek Syiem said.
