Nongpoh, Aug 16: Two riders died and two riding pillions suffered injuries when a scooty and a bike collided near Khapmara, Bhoirymbong.
The incident happened at around 8: 50 pm on Friday.
The deceased riders are Martynshain Myrthong (20) and Nangskhem Lyngdoh (18). The impact of the collision was so intense that both died on the spot.
The injured pillion riders, Ibaphylla Matlang (19) and Pdianghun Pathaw (19), both of Nongladaw village were rushed to Bhoirymbong CHC and later shifted to Shillong Civil Hospital.
Meanwhile, police from Khapmara PIC carried out a preliminary investigation at the accident site while a detailed inquiry is also underway.
