The Department of Human Development and Family Studies at the College of Community Science in Tura held a capacity training programme on ‘Play-Based Learning in early childhood education’.
The two-day event ended yesterday and saw the participation of 18 community gender health activists from the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
The training programme highlighted the significance of early childhood education, with a special emphasis on the importance of learning through play in fostering holistic development, a press release stated yesterday.
The programme also highlighted the utilisation of low-cost teaching aids to enhance learning experiences, aiming to make education more accessible and resource-efficient.
A key aspect of the training involved practical applications, including interactive games designed for concept development. Participants were provided with the opportunity to observe play-way learning activities at the Laboratory Nursery School. This hands-on experience not only provided valuable insights into effective teaching methods but also served as inspiration for the participants to implement similar strategies in their own educational settings, the release added.
