Shillong, Sep 20: Tura Christian College celebrated its eighth foundation day today at the Christian Girls’ Higher Secondary School Chapel Hall, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s journey.
The ceremony featured a choir performance by Hawakhana Baptist Church and prayer songs rendered by students from Tura United Christian Academy (TUCA) and Tura Christian College (TCC).
During the celebration, the Best Teacher Award for 2024-25 was presented to Baldhora M. Sangma from the Economics department of TUCA and Sungjemmenla from Tura Christian College TCC.
TCC Principal Dr. Earlitha M. Sangma highlighted the college’s achievements over the past years, reflecting on its growth and progress.
The event was attended by Leader of Opposition Dr Mukul Sangma and Captain Williamson Sangma State University Registrar Ambrose Ch. Marak as guests.
Dr. Sangma in his address emphasised the importance of individual productivity, the human brain’s capacity for knowledge, and the role of education in shaping young minds.
He also expressed his commitment as a policymaker to creating an environment that fosters growth, development, and opportunities for all.
Other dignitaries in attendance included Beryl B. Sangma, Vice President of Garo Regional Council and President of Garo Baptist Convention and others.
