Third Officer Gouri Paul, Association National Cadet Corps (NCC) Officer of 13 Tripura Battalion NCC, who accompanied the contingent of the NCC Directorate, North Eastern Region, to participate in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi in January, has been felicitated with an award of the Director General NCC Commendation for her invaluable contribution in assisting the contingent in achieving first place for the first time among the 17 participating directorates.
Paul is currently a lecturer in history at Ananda Vidya Niketan Girls’ High School in Agartala.
She is the first person from Tripura to receive this honour and has been rendering her services to the organisation since 2012. She has been instrumental in training four state cadets who also participated in the Republic Day Camp this year. They were honoured by the Tripura Governor at the state’s Raj Bhavan on returning from New Delhi. The unit is currently training another four more cadets for next year’s Republic Day Camp.
