An online quiz contest to mark World Indigenous People was organised by the Tribal Design Forum which was participated by multidisciplinary designers of tribal origin from across the country.
Abhijeet Munda from Ranchi University was declared the winner. The second prize was won by Varsha Mario Kachhap, an exhibition design student from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and Kanishtha Kujur, a textile design student from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad in the third place.
The content of the quiz covered various aspects of tribal culture, history, geography, museums, art, architecture, music, dance, textiles, cuisine, language, scripts, literature and indigenous knowledge systems highlighting the rich tribal heritage of India.
The forum said, the quiz not only was a platform for creating greater awareness about the rich culture of the tribal communities in India but at the same time encouraged the promotion of unique products from around the country, designed by tribal designers and handcrafted by indigenous artisans, as reflected in the pool of prizes curated by the forum.
