The Meghalaya Sport Climbing and Mountaineering Association (MeSCMA) organised the State Level Sport Climbing Selection Trials at the climbing wall of 58 GTC, Happy Valley here to select participants to represent the State in the forthcoming North East Zone Sport Climbing Competition 2024, to commence in the third week of December, and to prepare a team for the Meghalaya Games 2025.
The selection trials, which concluded today was supported by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA).
Altogether, 52 participants reported for the trials from Garo Hills, Jaintia Hills, Ri-Bhoi, West Khasi Hills and East Khasi Hills.
DSYA Director DD Shira attended the opening ceremony as a chief guest.
The association has expressed its gratitude to the Commandant of the 58 Gorkha Training Centre for allowing the members and climbers to use their climbing wall facilities for the selection trials and training purpose.
