The 23rd annual meeting of the KJP Synod Sepngi will conclude at Sakwang Presbyterian Church in the South West Khasi Hills District tomorrow.
As the congregation is expected to attract lakhs of believers from across the Khasi Hills, Jaintia, and abroad, the office of the Superintendent of Police for South West Khasi Hills District has issued traffic regulations to prevent traffic jams and ensure the smooth movement of vehicles.
The SP informed that all vehicles coming from Shillong and Umoid will proceed via Jakrem-Lad Sakwang to ITI Sakwang and park at Mawmyriong football playground and other parking in the area. Vehicles coming from the Ranikor area will go through the Nonglang – Mawkyrwat – District Court junction to Pynden Sakwang, where parking has been prepared.
The route for those who come from Nongstoin, Lawbyrtun, and Nongshilong will be through Pyndenmawthawiang-Jashiar- to Sakwang in which sumo, pickup, and small vehicles will park at Pyndensakwang while Bus and Trucks will park at Sakwang.
For those who come from Phangkynshi and Mawkohphet, the route will be through Rangmaw-Lad Rangmaw to Pyndenumdoh, where parking has been arranged in the area.
The SP has also advised all the drivers not to speed up, obey the signs and instructions of the volunteers and traffic police, should not park on the side of the roads, and should not overtake once they reach the Mawkyrwat area.
