The Trinamool Congress, Pynursla block committee has questioned the State government on the delay to release scholarships of students studying outside the state and demanded an explanation and support to those who have not availed it.
According to the block committee, the border area scholarship meant to support underprivileged students coming from the border areas too have not been released neither any official notification was issued.
“While there is money to pay consultants of all hues and nature and hold all sorts of money churning events but do not have the funds to sanction and disburse towards the immediate needs of students”, block committee joint secretary Dominic S Wankhar said in a statement here today.
Stating that the education sector is in a dilapidated situation, he said, “The rising cost of education, livelihood and other matters do not seem to have struck the corridors of the MDA led-government but are more interested in making hay while the sun still shines. The party demands the MDA government to do its homework well and not abandon the student community from their pursuits.”
