Opposition Trinamool Congress today attacked the NPP-led government calling chief minister, Conrad Sangma the “Pied Piper” that would lead the state to “utter ruins.”
The TMC in a series of tweets today stated that the MDA government is involved in multiple scams and that it will leave no stone unturned to highlight issues of misgovernance.
“Pied-piper of Meghalaya is driving all your money away! Saubhagya Scam – Rs 149 crore, Power Scam – Rs 100 crore+ Rice Scam – Rs 19 crore, Museum Scam – Rs 3 crores. Mr.@SangmaConrad you were supposed to take away the sufferings of people, not their hard-earned money!” the TMC tweeted.
“Mr. Conrad Sangma, the ‘Pied-piper of Meghalaya’ is leading the state to the utter ruins. NPP-led MDA government’s inefficacious and corrupt governance is vividly evident,” the party said.
The TMC also said that the MDA government has been making headlines for poor infrastructure and development and questioned about the construction of the Rongjeng-Mangsang-Adokgre road in East Garo Hills that never took off despite repeated reminders from the opposition.
“A government that lacks accountability to the people, is a government that is bound to topple,” the party said, adding, “Rongjeng-Mangsang-Adokgre Road remains a distant dream, as the @SangmaConrad-led MDA Government fails to initiate it even after 4 years. Where is all the money going Mr CM?”
Stating that the list of shoddy constructions by NPP-led MDA government is large the TMC said, “If put on a paper it might come out as NPP’s manifesto for the upcoming 2023 Assembly elections.”
