Ousted KHADC CEM, Titos Chyne had directly blamed the NPP central leadership for toppling his Executive Committee as he is perceived as threat.
“There are MLAs who want to oust me as the CEM of KHADC because they consider me as a threat. When these MLA joined the NPP the first condition they kept was also to remove me as the CEM,” Chyne stated even as he refused to divulge names of the legislators.
“I don’t know why they fear me. I’m not here not to scare anyone but to serve and bring laws that will strengthen the community. They are insecure and think that my position will affect their future and want my downfall,” he claimed.
Chyne also slammed the Congress MDCs justification that their support to the NPP was to pre-empt Governor’s Rule. “At this juncture if they say that a Governors Rule will come then it is just a lame and childish statement to fool the people. People understand that there was neither a financial or political crisis for such rule to be imposed,” he said.
“I also failed to understand how toppling an EC and forming a new EC is related to the proposed amendment of the Sixth Schedule as claimed by the Congress members,” he said, adding that whenever a meeting was held on the issue the congress members were always present.
He also said that everyone now is also talking about extension of the term of district council and wanted to enjoy more months and years as MDC because they fear facing the election and public at this juncture.
Stating that everyone was still intact with the UDA when the NC was moved against him, he said, “Supposed the NPP had withdrew their support to the UDA and the EM had resigned then there is a political crisis and the Congress had step in to rescue the situation but no such situation arose and the congress had only made a lame statement.”
He said that the UDA coalition was stitched with the knowledge of the MDA government and after the Sohiong election, he knew that there are MDCs, who were not in the EC, have started to rally against him, but stuck to the agreement.
“Was it not possible for me at that time to drop the NPP and induct the Congress because we have the numbers? I held on to the agreement as I am not used to back stabbing,” he added.
The former CEM however said the issue will be discussed at the party level of the UDP, a coalition of the MDA.2 in the State.
Meanwhile, Chyne was appointed as the new leader of opposition in the KHADC.
