Shillong, Dec 30: A blanket of dense fog is set to continue shrouding several parts of Meghalaya for the next five days, reducing visibility during early mornings and late evenings.
Shillong was blanketed in a thick layer of fog on Tuesday afternoon, extending into the evening.
The weather is expected to take a turn, with thunderstorms and hail expected in parts of Khasi and Jaintia Hills on January 3 and 4.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning, with East Khasi Hills likely to bear the brunt of the thunderstorm and hail activity. Residents are advised to exercise caution, especially while travelling, and farmers are urged to protect their crops from potential hail damage.
