Shillong, Aug 23: A car accessories store was robbed recently, prompting the owner to put up a public notice today appealing people not to buy stolen items.
The shop DK Car Automotive, located at Nongdaneng, Laitkor was robbed by two persons on August 19. CCTV footage captured the act with one of them looting the store and car accessories worth about Rs 1 lakh.
The store has urged the public not to buy or entertain stolen goods, as doing so indirectly supports criminal activities. “We request everyone to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or individuals involved in selling items at unusually low prices to the concerned authorities immediately,” it said.
Such incidents not only cause heavy losses to businesses but also disrupt the peace and safety of our community, the store management said and police and enforcement agencies to strengthen vigilance and take strict action against such unlawful acts to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
