The Dorbar Shnong of Thangskai has strongly opposed the dumping of garbage by Dalmia Cement.
Members of the dorbar, led by the Waheh Shnong, Phaibiang Syrti, today met representatives of the company and issued a stern warning not to dump waste at Thangskai.
Syrti informed that the Dorbar Shnong had written to the company in December 2021 about the issue as the area had become an eyesore with a terrible smell hanging in the air.
Informing that the Dorbar has also filed a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of East Jaiñtia Hills in February this year, he expressed dismay that the DC’s office failed to take any action on the complaint filed by them.
