The All Jaiñtia Muster Roll Workers & Labour Union, Thadlaskein block organised its sixth annual general meeting at Wah Suka in Moodymmai today.
Chaired by the block president Dathrangki Lakiang, the annual meet was attended by Labour Commissioner Mishila Thabah, president of the union’s central body Dayoowanphi Iakai, Labour inspector Bethcey Merry Toi and others
Thabah called on the union to ensure that locals get employment opportunities in cement companies
The labour inspector urged the muster roll to register under the e-Shram a flagship initiative by the Government of India to support and empower the unorganized workforce and enrol as members in the labour department.
The union also elected its new president in Loyal Siangshai, vice president Abanda Laloo, secretary Sawakani Siangshai, assistant secretary Daramon Raliang, Risa Kso and Pynbiang Lytan as the treasurers and Dathrangki Lakiang its adviser.
