A video of a biker performing stunts in New Shillong, which went terribly wrong, has gone viral and sparked anger and concern online.
In the video, a man is seen attempting a bike stunt at on a public road at Umsawli here. While the date and time of the incident cannot be verified independently, as per the video the man on his bike attempted to bend and touched his knee on a curve and eventually fell down, causing his bike to collide with a scooty coming from the opposite direction.
The man who attempted the stunt immediately got up after the fall whereas the scooty rider was thrown a little distance. The impact was huge as his helmet also came off.
Several other riders rushed to assist the scooty rider while the injured rider did not manage to get up.
The video spread rapidly across the internet, with many viewers expressing concern over such dangerous stunts and asked police to take action on such stunts on public roads.
“@EKH_Police complete stop on these activities is warranted! Intensify patrolling, challaning & seizures as per law, in coordination with EKH RTO!,” Director General of Police Lajja Ram Bishnoi wrote on X.
Superintendent of Police (City) Vivek Syiem said firm action will be taken on such bikers.
