The court of the Special Judge, POCSO in West Garo Hills has sentenced a tempo driver to seven years in jail for kidnapping a 14-year old girl.
The court in its order today also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the driver, Anishur Rahman alias Rahul. In default of payment of fine, the convict will have to undergo an additional simple imprisonment for another three months, the court said.
The victim had boarded his tempo on March 14, 2017, but failed to return home. Her family filed a complaint on March 18 and investigation revealed that Rahman abducted her and kept her confined in an undisclosed location.
