American author Lauren Oliver once said “Love: It will kill you and save you, both.”
This is what happened with a man accused of killing a taxi driver in West Jaiñtia Hills.
I Love You Talang was among four persons arrested by police yesterday for killing Damehipaia Papeng, a taxi driver who went missing on August 10.
According to police, Talang confessed that he along with his three other accomplices were involved in the kidnapping and murder of the taxi driver by slitting his throat.
He also told police that he dumped Papeng’s body near a cattle market in Mukoi Mihmyntdu, near the Jowai By-Pass.
Along with Talang, the others who were arrested for the crime are Tell Me Pyrtuh, Ramesh Dkhar and Sampher Ksoo.
The court has remanded the four to 14-day police custody.
Police are trying to ascertain if the group is also involved in the recent murder of another taxi driver Fullmoon Kharsahnoh whose body was found at Mynkre in East Jaiñtia Hills last week. The miscreants tied both his hands and feet and slit his throat.
Kharsahnoh who drove a tourist vehicle of Maruti Swift Dzire bearing registration number ML04-D-1113 had gone missing with his vehicle since August 16.
