The office of the District Tuberculosis Officer of Ri-Bhoi in collaboration with the Pioneer Carbide Pvt Ltd today held an awareness programme on tuberculosis at Byrnihat primary health centre.
The programme was attended by Dr E Kalwing, District Tuberculosis Officer, D Rynghang, representative of Pioneer Carbide, Dr JR Marak of Byrnihat PHC, P and others.
During the programme, Pioneer Carbide adopted 10 TB patients and will sponsor their treatment and other needs.
Dr Kalwing informed that there are more than 400 in Ri-Bhoi on record, 223 of whom have recovered.
