BJP MLA Sanbor Shullai who has always been the talk of the town for claiming credit to government developmental schemes today questioned why such schemes don’t materialise.
At a function to felicitate land donors for construction of various development projects in South Shillong constituency, Shullai aware of the “talks” said, “Some praise me for being the smartest others criticise me for taking credit of development schemes brought in by the government. But I have adopted a policy, to talk less and work more.”
Agreeing that the development projects are indeed the government’s, Shullai said, “The question is why the schemes in other constituencies do not materialise. Some would just come and lay a foundation stones just before election till they are covered with moss but the construction work never happens.”
He said that his ability to bring all the development is because he works with people right from the grassroot to the top level and loves all irrespective of caste, creed, and religion.
The felicitation programme was organised by the Monitoring Cum Implementation Committee of the South Shillong constituency wherein hundreds of landowners who have donated land free of cost for the construction of various PWD roads within the greater Lumparing area were felicitated.
Shullai expressed gratitude to all the landowners for their generosity in donating land for the larger interest of the public. He said they serve as an example for all citizens who should also think about the future generation.
Meanwhile he also handed the work order with an estimated cost of Rs 4.72 crore for the construction of a road from the bridge up to existing PWD road Dhobi Ghat opposite the MeECL transformer at Mawnei at Lower Lumparing including the expansion of the PWD road by the construction of the RCC slab cover over the stream from Smile School to Jumor lane at an estimated cost of Rs 1.13 crore.
