In compliance with the recent order issued by the High Court of Meghalaya, the office of the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills promulgated an order today that any attempt made by any person or organisation to spread misinformation regarding the efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccination, including rumours mongering and speeches against the vaccination programme in the district, shall face legal action.
The Superintendent of Police, Executive Magistrates, Incident Commanders, Zonal Magistrates and authorised police officers shall immediately step in to initiate action against the said person or organisation and bring such instances to the notice of the High Court. The order comes into immediate effect.
