The Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with line departments and stakeholders, will organise “Swastha Balak Balika Spardha”, or “Healthy Child Competition”, a nationwide weight and height measurement campaign to promote the value of nutrition and good health of children below six years from January 8 to 14.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to visit their nearest Anganwadi centre, hospitals, health centres or any designated locations to know their child’s nutritional status by measuring their weight and height.
A healthy child certificate will be issued by the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development to all healthy children.
