Shillong, Aug 25: The School of Technology (SOT) at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) inaugurated the third Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2025; a two-week initiative designed to welcome and orient newly admitted students of B.Tech, B.Arch, and M.Tech programmes.
The programme, organised in collaboration with the Universal Human Value (UHV) Cell, aims to equip first-semester students with essential academic, social, and ethical foundations for a successful journey at NEHU.
The SIP includes AICTE-prescribed modules such as physical activities, creative arts, universal human values, and entrepreneurship sessions.¹
The inaugural ceremony was attended by NEHU Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Sumarbin Umdor, Registrar In-charge Prof. Saurabh Kumar Dixit, and Dean of Students’ Welfare Prof. R.L. Nongkhlaw.
In his keynote address, Umdor encouraged students to embrace challenges and utilize opportunities available at the university. He shared success stories of NEHU alumni excelling globally, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and hard work.
The SIP-2025 is expected to foster a sense of belonging, nurture personal and academic growth, and prepare students to contribute positively to the university and society.
