Shillong, Mar 28: A severe cyclone struck the Mawkyrwat and Ranikor C&RD Blocks in the early hours of today, causing widespread damage.
According to reports, 63 houses in Mawkyrwat and two in Ranikor were damaged between 4 am to 5 am.
Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage and monitoring the situation closely. Relief and response measures are underway, with further details expected soon.
The District Disaster Management Officer, South West Khasi Hills District is ensuring a prompt response to the affected areas.
