The State government will install the life-size statues of the three great freedom fighters—U Tirot Sing, Kiang Nangbah and Pa Togan Sangma in 90 days time, Arts and Culture Minister, Sanbor Shullai said.
An inspection was today conducted by Shullai with Commissioner Secretary Arts and Culture Frederick Kharkongor, Director Wanri Booth, archaeologist Kanchana Koch and archivist D. Kharjana at the premises of the State Central Library today.
Shullai informed that a total amount of Rs 30 lakh has been sanctioned for the first phase and will be completed in 90 days. Award-winning artist and chief creative director of Riti Arts Academy, Raphael Warjri will execute the project, which is expected to be inaugurated on Independence Day.
Shullai said the initiative will inspire youth of the State to follow the footsteps of the great leaders in promoting and preserving culture and heritage.
