The State recorded two more Covid-19 deaths on Saturday, taking the fatalities to 36, health authorities said.
In the first case, one Khartik Ghosh, 50 years of Anandamath, Tura, West Garo Hills was admitted to Tura Civil Hospital on September 17 and died on September 19, at around 7 pm. He tested positive for Covid- 19.
“The cause of death was hypoxic encephalopathy due to COVID-19 pneumonia with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus Type 2 and uncontrolled hypertension,” Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said.
The second death was that of Artis Pyngrope, 68 years of Madanryting, Shillong.
Dr. War informed that the patient was admitted in Dr H. Gordon Robert’s Hospital on September 13 and tested positive for Covid-19.
He died on September 19 at around 3:24 am.
“The cause of death is acute respiratory tract infection with septic shock with hypertension,” Dr. War said.
