The Meghalaya government is still chasing after a meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the Inner Line Permit (ILP) issue but with no luck so far.
After being given the cold shoulder when Shah visited Shillong last Saturday, with the Union minister not providing any time to the government for a discussion on ILP, Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has since been in contact with Shah’s office in New Delhi hoping to secure an appointment.
This was informed today by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, who added that he is hopeful that Shah will give the state government an appointment during the Budget Session of Parliament, which began today.
Shah had last week reportedly told the CM that he would be happy to meet members of the Meghalaya cabinet in Delhi.
