The state government on Tuesday stated that it is committed to ensuring that all eligible students receive their scholarships in a timely manner.

In press statement issued here today, the government said that the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, has received a total of Rs. 42,32,13,280 for disbursal of Scholarships, comprising of Rs. 38,08,91,952 from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India as the Central Share and Rs. 4,23,21,328 from Government of Meghalaya as the Equivalent State Share.
According to the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, a total of 16,964 beneficiaries have already been paid their scholarships.
“The remaining 59,791 beneficiaries will be paid once the second instalment of funds is received from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India,” the Directorate stated.
It also said that the department is currently actively pursuing with the Government of India for the release of the second instalment.
