The All Meghalaya Futsal Soccer Association (AMFSA) today felicitated futsal players of the state who represented India at the Indo-Nepal International Futsal Cup 2022.
The tournament was organised by the Nepal Futsal Federation and was held in Pokhara, Nepal, from May 29 to 31.
The Indian women’s team won 2-1 against Nepal but the men finished runners-up as they were on the receiving end of a 2-0 defeat in the final.
Silbanus Diengngan from the men’s team and Fragrancy Riwan from the women’s won the Best Player awards.
From the men’s team, Abandon Nongtnger, Mankupar Nongbri, Mandilot Hashah, Shaniahskhem Lyngdoh Marshyllong represented Meghalaya as part of the India team while Liza Muktieh, Solina Jaba and Fragrancy were on the women’s team.
Mawsynram MLA Himalaya Shangpliang was present at the felicitation programme in the presence of Samuel Hashah, president of AMFSA.
