St Edmund’s College, Shillong, was presented with the District Green Champion Award 2020-21 by East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Isawanda Laloo today.
The award was handed over to Dr Sylvanus Lamare, the college principal.
St Edmund’s received the award on the basis of successfully setting up the ‘Swacchta Action Plan Committee’, adopting and implementing the best practices in the areas of sanitation, hygiene, waste management, water management, energy management and greenery management, the certificate’s citation reads.
The award was made in the name of the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, government of India.
