The MBOSE SSLC result 2021 was declared on Thursday with a 52.91 per cent pass percentage which saw a slight increase when compared to last year’s 50.31 per cent.
As many as 64,269 students appeared for the Class 10 examination out of which 34,003 students passed the exam conducted during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the list of the first twenty merit holders, West Khasi Hills-based St Thomas Higher Secondary School, Mairang bagged the top position in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examination in Kevinstrong Lawriniang who scored 96 per cent.
The second rank holder is Wanteibok Pator from Sawlyngdoh Higher Secondary School, Mowkaiaw while the third rank was shared between Kashish Samee from Shillong’s St Mary’s Higher Secondary School and Mridumay Saha of Sherwood School, Tura.
East Jaiñtia Hills District scored the highest pass percentage at 85.09 per cent while South West Garo Hills registered the lowest at 23.01 per cent in the SSLC examination.
The MBOSE also declared the HSSLC (Arts) examination results wherein St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School repeats its history when it once again topped the list of ten with five rank holders.
Daniel Ksanbor Khyriemmujat of St Anthony’s topped the examination with a score of 462 marks while L Kennedy Vaiphei of St Edmund’s Higher Secondary School and Jethro Jarvis Roy Jyrwa of St Anthony’s were placed in the second and third position by scoring 450 and 449 marks respectively.
Out of the 25, 638 students, 20,740 were declared successful by the board. West Khasi Hills district recorded the highest pass percentage of 92.91 per cent while South Garo Hills with only 54 per cent.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma took to twitter to congratulate all the successful students of both the examinations.
“Congratulations to our dear students who passed their #SSLC & #HSSLC (Arts) examinations. Kudos to the toppers who have done their parents, teachers and school/college proud! Wishing each of you a successful future. May you always shine!” Sangma said.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui tweeted, “Congratulations to all my young friends who passed their HSSLC (Arts) Examination 2021. Wishing you a bright future. Salute to the Rank holders, you make your parents and teachers proud.”
