The Old Boys Association, Sainik School Goalpara Meghalaya Chapter observed the 58th School Raising Day today and donated blood at the Regional Blood Centre, Pasteur Institute, Shillong.
President of the association, Col G. K. Rai (Retd) said, “Nurtured in a school which taught us to always come forward to serve the nation, we make it a point to contribute in every way for the benefit our countrymen/women. Today’s camp was a small step towards a noble cause to save precious lives.”
Vice-President, Rocket Syiem said that the association has resolved to organise such a program every year on the school raising day. “As a chapter, we are contemplating to reach out to the society and contribute in whatever is possible way. We dream of having a Sainik school in the state which will go a long way in benefitting the generations to come,” he added.
The blood donation camp was also attended by Maj Gen Bhaskar Kalita, Additional Director General, NCC, North East Region, who is also one of the illustrious alumni of Sainik School Goalpara.
