The Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) has threatened to launch an indefinite dharna if the state government fails to fulfil their demands before July 15.
“We have decided to launch an indefinite dharna at the Additional Secretariat parking lot, Shillong, from July 18 if our demands are not met,” MSSASA president Aristotle C Rymbai said today.
The demands include payment of five months pending salaries, enhancement of the SSA teachers salary, to increase the state budget provision for the SSA, moving existing SSA teachers from the state implementation society to the Education Department on a regular basis and as per the provisions of the Right to Education Act norms.
