An open speed skating competition was organised by St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School recently in association with the Meghalaya Speed Skating Association and Speed Skating Federation of India.
Laitumkhrah-Malki MDC Fantin Joseph Lakadong was the chief guest and was reportedly enthralled by the first-of-its-kind event.
The event saw participation from East Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills and Jaintia Hills, as well as Assam. More than 75 participants competed in the different age groups.
Meanwhile, the sport of roll ball, which will be included at the 37th National Games in Goa, was also demonstrated with a match between Assam and Meghalaya.
