Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at the Raj Bhavan as 10 children and two mothers from SOS Children’s Village Shillong met Governor Phagu Chauhan today.
The occasion was marked by the tying of sacred Rakhis, symbolizing bonds of love, protection, and unity.

Chauhan accepted the Rakhis, underlining his commitment to the people he represents.
Members of the Brahmakumaris, Shillong Centre led by in charge B. K. Neelam also visited the Governor on the occasion and extended the tradition to embrace unity and respect for leaders, emphasizing the festival’s essence of strengthening relationships and fostering goodwill.
