Chief Minister Conrad Sangma who met the delegation of Sohra District Demand Forum (SDDF) today said that “certain areas of concerns and challenges” are there when it comes to the proposed creation of Sohra district.
“There are some areas of concerns and there are some challenges and because of those challenges we are not able to move the discussion forward and therefore consultations had to be done at a much broader scale. I have assured the forum that we will take this discussion forward. I will ask the chief secretary to one again review this entire matter and call the forum if necessary and discuss with other stakeholders also who are part of this discussion. After we are able to talk with everybody then we can decide on the way forward. But right now, there are a lot of areas which we need to look into and it is very important to discuss those areas before any final decision can be taken,” Sangma told media persons.
He also said that the State chief secretary will call the SDDF soon for further discussion on the matter where all relevant issues will be examined in detail.
